The Sounds of the Dolomites

SASSO ROSSO CHOIR, I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI, CARLO TORLONTANO
Mountain Echoes
Some of the special projects carried out for past editions of our festival have turned out to be particularly intense and enjoyable not only for the audiences present at the performances, but also for the artists involved from the earliest stages of preparation. Among the most successful events we can certainly count the project which brought the Alpine choir tradition together with classical music, represented respectively by the Sasso Rosso Choir and the I Virtuosi Italiani orchestra.
In this year’s edition, the project will have a new location and a fresh breath of life within the context of a long-standing rapport. The latest meeting between one of Trentino’s best-loved Alpine choirs and Italy’s most versatile chamber orchestra, further elevated by the presence of the Alpine horn played by Carlo Torlontano, will provide another opportunity to hear original renditions of the celebrated compositions of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, as well as pieces from Leopold Mozart, Mendelssohn, Grieg and other composers. A concert combining tradition and innovation, to appeal to any curious and attentive music-lover.
Location
Val di Fiemme, Cornacci Group - Monte Agnello, Buse de Tresca. Walking on the trails that from Alpe di Pampeago or Passo Feudo climb to Buse de Tresca, at the foot of Dos Capèl, is like leafing through a book on the amazing geological history of the Dolomites. What could be more exciting than treading right on the crater’s mouth of what 230 million years ago had become the largest volcano in Europe, so huge that it later collapsed under its own weight? All this, and being able to admire in front of you the Pale di San Martino and the most southern part of the Latemar group.
