Dolomiti Ski Jazz

From March 9th to March 16th 2019

This festival is an exciting and uncommon listening experience, whether you will be skiing or relaxing on one of the well-known panoramic terraces of the Dolomite ski area.

During Dolomiti Ski Jazz, music will come out of theaters and reach the ski slopes, creating a combination of nature, winter sports and musical emotions. From March 10th to March 17th in Val di Fiemme, renowned artists such as Gegè Telesforo, Javier Girotto, Francesco Bearzatti and Scott Hamilton will be co-starring in the festival together with the most appealing snowy landscapes of the Dolomites.

Every day at lunch time, the Dolomiti Ski Jazz takes off. All concerts in the mountain huts are free of charge and jazz music will overwhelm the atmosphere with many different styles: from New Orleans’s sounds with the Tiger Dixie Band to the organ grooves by the quartet of Alberto Marsico and the trio by Marco Castelli; from the ethnic rhythms of Kora Beat to the soul, rhythm and blues by the American singer Shanna Waterstown and to the swing pieces by Francesca Bertazzo Hart and Eva Eminger.

When the sun goes down, the festival Dolomiti Ski Jazz moves into theaters. Even if away from the frenetic ski slopes, the music is still dynamic and captivating, well balanced between art and entertainment: with the quintet by the vocalist and famous newscaster Gegè Telesforo; the French piano player Christian Sauvage; the Barionda, a band with four remarkable solo baritone saxophonists (Javier Girotto, Florian Bramböck, Helga Plankensteiner and Giorgio Beberi); the trio by Michele Polga; the American sax player Scott Hamilton, one of the greatest figures when talking about modern swing; the Hardrada Quartet; the Tinissima Quartet by the saxophonist Francesco Bearzatti.
