The Sounds of the Dolomites

Iva Bittova, a Czech musician, actress and dancer, describes herself as someone with "an infinite passion for music, for voices, for discovery, for people, for life". For her concert at I Suoni delle Dolomiti 2023, she will take to the stage with Vladimír Václavek (vocals and guitar) and Jacob Růžička (drums), framed by the majestic Latemar and Catinaccio massifs, the Corno Bianco and Corno Nero.

Using the violin and her voice to create performances that transcend any specific style and have an engaging theatricality, this outstanding artist's performances cut across the contemporary music scene. Iva Bittova has experimented with a variety of musical genres, including opera, jazz, progressive rock and classical music, combining her wide range of skills in a spirited, structured, and creatively intuitively emotional language.

Signed by the ECM record label, Iva Bittova explores the sounds of the violin and vocals as part of an ongoing experiment. Her singing has hints of both medieval music and techniques from the early and late 20th century avant-garde movement, and her violin-playing style is just as diverse. This unique artist has performed on stages all around the world, including in collaboration with numerous world-renowned artists and global music institutions.
