La Sportiva: In 2017, first epic ski mountaineering tour

A ski mountaineering news will be shaking up Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa from 13th to 15th January 2017.

“La Sportiva EPIC Ski Tour 4All” is a three-day event and will pleasantly revolutionize the modern way of experiencing the ski mountaineering.

This sport and its technical and leading events are conquering the snow-white mountains with simple treks or crowded night routes on the ski slopes. But this sport has now a new project dedicated both to the champions and to real amateurs and the prize money is 46,000 Euro.

On Friday 13th January the first competition is at Alpe Cermis, both on the ski slope and off piste. On Saturday 14th January, skis on but also carried on your shoulders, at Passo San Pellegrino. On Sunday 15th January last day at Passo Pordoi.

La Sportiva EPIC Ski Tour is not only competition, but a great happening. It is scheduled during the weekend immediately after the final stage of Tour de Ski, and the cornerstone will be in the conference hall PalaFiemme in Cavalese, where the race desks, the race “village” and all the side events will be organized.

The registrations for the 2017's edition and the website have been opened since April. To take part, you need a valid medical certificate attesting you are medically fit. The total fee for the three races is 160 Euro and gives you the right to receive the special Combo Helmet by La Sportiva whose market value is 139 Euro (EN 12492, EN 1007 class B). Wearing it during the three races will be mandatory.

For the company of Val di Fiemme La Sportiva, which exports climbing shoes, outdoor technical clothing, trail running shoes, hiking shoes and ski mountaineering boots all over the world, “climbing high is a goal, an instict, a vocation”.
