5 – 16 ART INSTALLATIONS ON THE SLOPE OF PAMPEAGO
In the Ski Center Latemar, the Agnello slope of Pampeago encourages people to try an amusing photo ski-safari among 16 art installations which can be seen also from the Agnello chairlift. Other 11 installations can be seen only in the summer, walking through the Art Park RespirArt. Skiing down the Agnello slope among art pieces framing the dolomitic Latemar chain, stopping on the slope side one can admire: a mythological horse, a star, a frame, a big eye, a guardian of the Dolomites, a granite snap-hook, a group of suspended chairs, a theatre, two design-chairs and a huge head framing the Latemar mount. The most recent art installation, created in the summer of 2019, is an art piece dedicated to the rebirth of forests by Terrae, a group of artists coming from the Trentino region, who wanted to represent two forces of nature: destruction and regeneration. The installation, called “October 29th, 2018”, recalls the windstorm Vaia that hit the Northeastern forests of Italy including Val di Fiemme, knocking over millions of trees. These artists reproduced the wind effects, putting together the cracked logs found in the nearby area. This installation is placed in front of the mythological horse Sleipnir 47 by the Italian-Swedish artist Duilio Forte, right before the Caserina Chalet.
