Val di Fiemme - Trentino, technology, art and design… on the slope
The Fiemme-Obereggen ski area, with its 110 km of slopes in the Dolomites of Trentino, will inaugurate the ski season on Saturday 25th November 2017.
Technology, art and design belong to the skiareas of Alpe Cermis, Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia, Ski Center Latemar, Passo Rolle and Lavazé-Oclini.
One of the 2017-18's winter news is the new Pampeago slope which starts from the end of the famous Canalone Agnello and gets to the parking areas. To cover the new 350-meter-long Wayback slope there will be artificial snow only. It goes down towards the car parks and has a wayout to every parking area.
The Agnello slope and its variant are also an amusing photo ski-safari among 13 works of art that you can see from the Agnello chairlift, too (other 7 can be seen throughout summer only). You go skiing near giant wool cocoons, pieces of art that "frame" the peaks of Latemar and bizarre art installations pointing at the sky. The new works of art on the slope are “Acutis”, a radiant circle made of weathering steel by Cosimo Allera from Gioia Tauro (installed near Baita Caserina), the huge drops amid the branches by Federico Seppi, artist from Trentino, called “Simulacrum - Simulacro” (near the Agnello mountain hut) and the suspended chairs by Piergiorgio Doliana, from Val di Fiemme, called “Virtual Conversations - Conversazioni virtuali” (underneath the Agnello chairlift).
Already from 2016, the Fiemme-Obereggen skiarea is supplied with innovative ski lifts such as a new cableway and a telemix, and brand-new new ski chalets.
On the mountain of the sun, Alpe Cermis, you can go skiing at night, twice a week. The slope Olimpia 3 gets illuminated every Wednesday and Friday, from 19:30 to 22:30. Who books a dinner out at the restaurant Baita Grana, to go skiing under a carpet of stars, can eat and drink in a very pleasant location, both outdoor and indoor. The lounge-bar La Baita Tonda, the restaurant Baita Grana and the cableway top station Alpe Cermis are now a unique structure that perfectly combines with the landscape thanks to the glass walls and the slats of larchwood. Then, the amazing park dedicated to children, Cermislandia, will present three news this year - a sledding slope, an inflatable slope and the ski slope for beginners at Dosso Larici.
Here we are at the Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia skiarea, where the skiers enjoy the preferred view over the Natural Park of Paneveggio and the breath-taking Pale di San Martino. Now the large and sinuous slopes are supplied by the new and super silent gondola Bellamonte 3.0 that, by replacing two chairlifts, has removed 13 pillars from the ski slopes. The second stop leads to the entrance of the new 2-km-long sledding slope Fraina.
But what happened in the 48 km of slopes at Ski Center Latemar? They built the marvellous ski chalet Oberholz at Obereggen, a real piece of design in nature, and the cutting-edge telemix Laner in Obereggen with heated chairs (the first ski lift of Fiemme-Obereggen with both chairs and gondolas on the same rope) and the new 750-mt-long sledding slope Absam, at Laner, a second sledding slope together with the main one, the Obereggen (2.5 km).
