Tour de Ski

From 8th to 10th January 2021

Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme, Trentino

There is no Tour de Ski, without Val di Fiemme!

Val di Fiemme is the only location to have hosted all the editions of the Tour de Ski since 2007 and on the 3rd January the 100th stage of the Tour was celebrated, right in Val di Fiemme!

The 15th edition will be held from 8th to 10th January 2021, a long weekend with three Cross-Country World Cup races.

After the traditional Mass Start in classic technique (10 km women, 15 km men) on Friday 8th January, on Saturday 9th there will be a Sprint again, in classic technique too, where the Italian champion Federico Pellegrino will try to take revenge on the hard track from 2.5km of the Cross Country Stadium of Lago di Tesero, where the last edition failed to catch a good result. Sunday 10th January the legendary Final Climb of the Alpe Cermis, in free technique and in mass start mode, a novelty brought in 2020 and which has met great success, making the event (already the most watched on TV of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup season) even more crackling.

Beyond the World Cup competitions, several side events will complete the programme. Amateurs will be able to try their hand once again in the "Rampa con i Campioni", while the spectators can enjoy a culinary break at the wood-huts of the Tour del Gusto. Many events also dedicated to children and teenagers, thanks to the "COOP Mini World Cup" and the "Junior Final Climb", music and fun at the "Fiemme Party Tent".

Every year, over 30 million TV viewers watch the epic achievements of cross-country skiers in the final of the Tour de Ski. The legendary Final Climb confirms the highlight of the season: 9 km in free technique, of which 3.5 km all uphill, with peaks that touch the 30% slope and a difference in height of 420 meters. An appointment that has never been missing in Trentino since the founding year on the initiative of Vegard Ulvang and Jürg Capol and will be repeated every year, until 2026, when Val di Fiemme will also be protagonist of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, hosting the Nordic disciplines (cross-country, ski jumping and nordic combined) in the now world and then Olympic stadiums of Predazzo and Lago di Tesero.
