International race for young cross-country skiers

The most important event for young cross-country skiers is an authentic smaller version of a “World cup” race, organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Castello di Fiemme. A group of more than 1.100 “squirrels” between the ages of 8 and 16 coming from all parts of Italy and Europe, will peacefully invade the Lago di Tesero Cross-Country Stadium, location of the event since its first edition 22 years ago.

The protagonist of this sport festival is the mascot “Skiri”, the squirrel on skis that has accompanied three Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme. Skiri is one of the best known “symbols” of winter sport events in the “cradle of Nordic Ski”, just like Val di Fiemme which is known and loved in Italy and worldwide.
