The fifth stage of a long-distance route (6 recommended stages) to discover the Valle di Cembra at a relaxed pace

The Cammino delle Terre Sospese is a 90 km route that connects villages, hamlets, and farmsteads of Val di Cembra that seem suspended in time, to experience the genuine identity of this valley away from tourist circuits. Following this path, you will cross the valley, moving from the right bank to the left bank, crossing the Avisio stream several times, the undisputed protagonist of this fascinating route. You will discover a richness and diversity of natural and cultural landscapes that will surprise you: neighborhoods, faces and ancient fountains in small villages, terraced vineyards supported by daring dry stone walls, medieval chapels, castles and historic connecting roads, small farmsteads and ancient rural houses, mills, forges, sawmills… and then streams and silent woods. The Cammino delle Terre Sospese is not just a physical route, but an important community project, promoted by a spontaneous group of volunteers who founded the association Destinazione Val di Cembra ETS, to encourage people to meet and discuss a more sustainable development of their territory, strengthening the spirit of an active and welcoming community. For this reason, we wish you a route full of encounters and relationships.

Before leaving, consult the Camino website, download the track, prepare your backpack with water and the necessary items for the daily stages. In case of emergency, remember the number to call immediately is 112.

Grumes (Altavalle)
Vedení
From the square of Grumes you ascend towards the Parish Church of Santa Lucia. You reach the SS 612 and cross it, continuing uphill towards the Masi di Grumes. Following the signs, you climb to Maso Giovanni, the last group of houses of the Masi Alti. After passing the last house, you descend toward Maso Pojeri. At the Chapel, take the road on the right that enters the woods and along a comfortable path, reach the hamlet of Le Bornie (Valda). After a short stop in the small village, the route continues in front of the small church. You always walk on a forest road in the woods. After a long stretch with little elevation change, you take a path that descends steeply and reconnects to another forest road. From here, continue until you reach an asphalted road where you ascend for a few hundred meters. Take a country lane that passes near a mountain hut and along a path reach the Faorine stream and the cultural center “Molin de Portegnach”. From the parking lot, a small path rises again into the woods leading to the fields of Faver. Following the asphalt road, you arrive in the center of the village. From here, the route follows the itinerary towards Segonzano Castle (European path E5). After visiting the castle and passing the village of Piazzo, take the road that leads to the hamlet of Parlo. Using paths and old mule tracks, reach the provincial road and follow it walking beyond the guardrail for a few hundred meters. Cross it and take a mule track that brings you to Sevignano. Cross the village decorated with owl statues and continue on flat streets towards the small hamlet of Casara, reaching then the inhabited area of Lona, the destination of the stage.
