Presentation of the book "Taccuino di un folle" by Paolo Cova, ed Corsiero
One thousand miles away from their own country, from their loved ones, from their roots, a thousand miles traveled in the most diverse ways, filled with hopes, searching for a land that can be kind and welcoming. In the photographs of Beppe Ameglio, a migrating humanity is portrayed in its everyday moments: suffering and hope, life and death are part of the same day. The smiles, the fatigue, the objects, the borders, the crossings, the dangers, the human impulses are captured by Beppe Ameglio’s lens in a continuous search for shots that can evoke emotions and foster understanding. In these images, there is all the emotional charge, the desire to survive, often the despair and precariousness of the many migrants who every day seek to cross the border between Italy and France, but also and above all the courage and pride of those who have found home and work. The publication is produced in collaboration with Mappamondo and Casa Africa.
