āWar peaks, Olympic peaksā is an interactive exhibition conceived and created by the Municipality of Cavalese and Marighetti Collections, on the occasion of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Val di Fiemme.
2026. Once again, the Val di Fiemme takes center stage; proudly hosting the events of the 25th edition of the Winter Olympic Games. Just over a century ago, between 1915 and 1918, this very territory was the scene of the White War: a struggle for survival, not for the conquest of a medal.
The exhibition "Peaks of War, Olympic Peaks" narrates the transformation of the way of experiencing the mountains, from the White War to modern mountaineering. Uniforms, equipment, and original documents from the Marighetti Collection interact with contemporary materials, guiding the visitor on a journey through time to discover the solutions developed to survive and live in the mountains. A fundamental aspect of this evolution is the contribution of those who, since the post-World War II era, have gathered and developed the legacy born in those places. La Sportiva, founded in 1928 in this valley, is a line of continuity, is passion, is craftsmanship, respect, and innovation. Through constant research, product development, and tests conducted with the best athletes, La Sportiva helps define the standard of modern equipment, bringing a century of progress into the present.
The exhibition's path thus brings past and present into dialogue: the needs of yesterday's soldiers and today's athletes, the wartime mountain and the Olympic mountain, survival and performance.
The project is a spin-off of the cultural system project Combinazioni_caratteri sportivi promoted by the Cultural Department of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
