A journey to discover the magical intertwining between forest and community
The documentary photographers of Terra Project, along with anthropologist Nicola Martellozzo, will explore the human aspect of their photographic volume "Our Forest," which encompasses faces, activities, and forest landscapes of the Val di Fiemme. A visual narrative that intertwines the centuries-old history of a forest with that of the community that cares for it and lives it every day.
The landscapes tell of the fragility and resilience of the forest: from ancient centenary woods to the wounds left by the Vaia storm and the bark beetle, up to the nurseries, symbols of the future. The activities of logging and local wood processing frame the traditional knowledge, such as mushroom gathering and the production of essential oils and resins. Finally, the portraits reveal the human soul of the forest.
