Join us for an immersive afternoon in Val Venegia, the heart of the Dolomites! Together with an expert zoologist, you will explore the colonies of marmots. At the end of the activity, a tasty snack awaits you at Malga Venegiota. Reservation required at the number: 0462 576283.
Distinctive features: thick and rough fur, protruding teeth, unmistakable whistle. The physiological and behavioral characteristics typical of the marmot make it an extremely interesting subject for study; in fact, its presence can represent an important indicator of how the high-altitude environment is changing.
In the company of an expert zoologist, you will experience an afternoon as a true researcher in Val Venegia, a wonderful Dolomite setting and a sample area of a multi-year monitoring project carried out by the Park Authority focused specifically on this exceptional alpine rodent. You will personally participate in the data collection activities, and in between your observations, you will learn more about the scientific research work carried out daily by the Park.
At the end of the measurements, a delicious snack awaits you at Malga Venegiota, featuring cakes and typical sweets made on-site.

Meeting at 2:00 p.m. at the Paneveggio Visitors Center
Clothing and equipment: it is strongly recommended to wear appropriate clothing for a mountain hike and waterproof, non-slip footwear (hiking boots). To get the most out of the experience, it is advised to bring binoculars and to wear suitable clothing and footwear for mountain hiking (approximately one hour of walking) and to protect yourself from sun/rain.
Dogs: please kindly indicate the presence of dogs in the notes section during registration, as this activity takes place in areas with high wildlife activity.
Car transfer and parking: the activity requires transfer from Paneveggio to Val Venegia using personal vehicles; please note that payment for parking in the Val Venegia area is required.
Participation fee (snack included): € 15.00; € 5.00 for children aged 4 to 11 years (free for children up to 3 years).
