āWar peaks, Olympic peaksā is an interactive exhibition conceived and created by the Municipality of Cavalese and Marighetti Collections, on the occasion of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Val di Fiemme.
2026. Once again, Val di Fiemme is at the forefront; it proudly hosts the competitions of the 25th edition of the Winter Olympic Games. Just over a century ago, between 1915 and 1918, this same territory was the scene of the White War: a struggle for survival, not for the conquest of a medal.
The exhibition "Peaks of Wars, Olympic Peaks" tells the story of the transformation of how we experience the mountains, from the White War to modern mountaineering. Uniforms, equipment, and original documents from the Marighetti Collection interact with contemporary materials, guiding the visitor on a time-travel journey to discover the solutions developed to survive and live in the mountains. A fundamental element of this evolution is the contribution of those who, since the Second World War, have collected and developed the legacy born in those places. La Sportiva, founded in 1928 in this valley, represents continuity, passion, craftsmanship, respect, and innovation. Through constant research, product development, and testing with the best athletes, La Sportiva helps to define the standard of modern equipment, bringing a century of progress into the present.
The exhibition's journey thus engages in dialogue between the past and the present: the needs of yesterday's soldiers and those of today's athletes, the wartime mountains and the Olympic mountains, survival and performance.
