Via Crucis on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the tragedy of Stava, departing from the Pèsa locality and arriving at the Chiesetta della Palanca.
On the eve of the anniversary, the evocative Stations of the Cross take place starting at 8:30 p.m. from the locality of Pesa, winding through the Val di Stava, and concluding in front of the little church of Palanca in Stava.
The Stations of the Cross are led by the Pastor of the Santa Maria del Cammino pastoral unit, which includes the Parish of Tesero, Father Albino Dell’Eva, and represent a deeply felt communal moment for the families of the Victims and the community of Tesero. During the Stations of the Cross, the names of the 268 Victims of the disaster are recited at each station.
The Stations of the Cross are accompanied by the boys and girls of Tesero, who illuminate each station with torches, and by the songs of the Genzianella Choir, the Santa Cecilia Choir, and the Youth Choir of Tesero.
The Stations of the Cross take place on the provincial road connecting Tesero to Stava along a route of approximately 800 meters with a height difference of nearly 80 meters.
