Ready to meet the king of the forest through the eyes of scientific research?
The adventure begins with exclusive images of collaring does in the Park, a starting point to challenge yourself in an engaging hands-on trial: armed with technology, we will search together for a hidden collar in the woods to understand how zoologists track wildlife movements. We will then walk along the Marciò trail, to read the forest from the deer's perspective: we will explore the challenges of its habitat among the tracks of the Vaia storm, the return of the wolf, and the competition with the other inhabitants of the woods. The journey will culminate with close observation of the specimens in the wildlife area, a unique opportunity to decipher the biology and behaviors of this noble ungulate, before concluding the day with a guided tour of the exhibits at the Visitors Center. A comprehensive journey between science and nature to experience the Park as true protagonists of conservation.
The initiative will take place partly indoors at the Paneveggio Visitors Center and partly outdoors (weather permitting). It is therefore recommended to wear comfortable, layered clothing suitable for going outside. In case of bad weather, the event will still take place, with appropriate adjustments to the activities.
