Tour not far from the villages but surrounded by nature so that you can see the villages you cross by from a whole new perspective!
This tour meanders through the "fire breakers", the streets created to avoid the spread of fire in the forest. These roads, with some demanding parts, are in the woods behind the villages. Shortly before Tesero you will ride near the spectacular observatory with its telescope.

  1. Plan your ride
  2. Share the trail with other users
  3. Yield right of way to hikers
  4. Let your speed be determined by your experience
  5. Ride slowly on crowded trails, overtake with politeness and respect
  6. Cycle only on authorized and open trails
  7. Avoid muddy trails in order not to damage them further
  8. Respect nature, plants, animals and the trail
  9. Do not frighten animals
  10. Take your rubbish home with you
  11. Respect public and private property
  12. Always be selfsufficient
  13. Do not cycle solo in remote areas
  14. Take back home only good pics

ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET !

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and it is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Starting point
Tesero
Directions
This is a panoramic tour on the firebreak trails, which were created to avoid the progress of possible wildfire. From the main square of Tesero, ride down to the valley floor and cross the Avisio creek on the wooden bridge in Lago di Tesero. Once reached the Cross-country ski Stadium, take the cycle route that leads to the wooden bridge in Panchià and cross it. A quick look to the MTB racetrack on the left side – with parabolic curves, bumps, natural and artificial obstacles – and then keep riding along the cycle route until you reach Ziano. Ride up on the hillsides of Pelenzana, then descend towards the main road. A few meters after the roundabout, cross the road on the pedestrian crossing that leads into the cycle route back to Ziano. The tour continues along the firebreak trails, passing by the towns of Panchià and Tesero, then going up to the valley of Stava. The last uphill section crosses the valley and leads to the Astronomical Observatory (open from Mid-June to Mid-September with guided visits in the evening). From here, ride back to the starting point.
