Book launch: *Growing Up in the Mountains*

Presentation of the book by Quinto Antonelli "Growing Up in the Mountains from the 19th Century to Contemporary Times". This is the first meeting of the new series of events promoted by RE.TE - Relationships Territories.

A new series of autumn events of RE.TE – Relazioni Territori begins:
the cultural network of the territory presents a rich program including books, cinema, and theater

Uniting forces, creating synergies, and contributing to the cultural life of the community. It is in this spirit that the new series of events promoted by “RE.TE – Relazioni Territori” kicks off, a project that aims to tell and enhance local identity.
Shaping this collaboration are seven of the main cultural entities in the area: the Library of Fiera di Primiero, the Library of Canal San Bovo, the Municipal Library of Moena, the Palace of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme, the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park, La Stazione / Destinazione Cultura, and the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo.

The program of autumn activities begins on Tuesday, October 13 at 5 p.m. in the spaces of La Stazione / Destinazione Cultura in Predazzo with the presentation of the book Growing up in the mountains from the 19th century to contemporary times (Quaderni del Parco, 2025). The author, Quinto Antonelli, will guide the audience through an authentic and essential journey in the history of childhood in the Alps between the 19th and 20th centuries, broadening the perspective on the present, recounting the lives of children today in the mountainous regions of Asia and Latin America.

The following week, on Tuesday, October 20 at 9 p.m., the review will move to the Cinema Teatro di Predazzo for a free admission evening, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Predazzo and the Trento Film Festival. The event will feature two author screenings focused on the themes of mountain children: it will start with the short film Mut by Giulio Squillacciotti, an intimate and poetic look at mountain life through two generations of farmers, followed by Children of the Frontier by Manu Gerosa, a touching documentary that reconstructs the events of the Alcide De Gasperi Institute on Monte Bondone and the stories of the children of Italian emigrants from the second half of the 20th century.

Finally, on Saturday, November 28 at 5 p.m., culture will transform into play and wonder for the little ones at the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo. The animated tale TOR – The Awakening of the Dragon, curated by Ylenia D'Alonzo and designed for children aged 4 to 10, will be staged. The story will feature the dragon Tor who, awakened due to the pollution of his alpine lake, will find balance and harmony with nature thanks to the courage of little Nora and a fantastic journey in search of the Essential Drops. A ticket fee of 3.00 euros is required for this show, with mandatory reservation (museum website or by calling 0462 500366).

With this series of initiatives, the RE.TE project renews its commitment to promoting the cultural life of the community, stimulating participation and rediscovery of the heritage, stories, and territorial narratives.

Event in Italian.
