A mother, Esther, fights against all odds to fulfill the destiny she has envisioned for her son Roland.
A strong and courageous Sephardic Jew, she gives birth to her sixth child, Roland, who is born with a foot deformity that prevents him from standing. The doctors are pessimistic, and the diagnosis is clear: Roland will never walk like other children. But Esther, against everyone’s advice, promises her son that he will overcome his condition and have a wonderful life, just like other children.
With unwavering faith and extraordinary strength, Esther dedicates her life to keeping this promise. Year after year, she faces sacrifices and battles, convinced that a mother's love and perseverance can change the course of destiny. Her determination not only helps Roland overcome physical difficulties but also guides him in realizing his dreams, including a passion for music and a devotion to the singer Sylvie Vartan, who becomes a symbol of hope for him.
