In the heart of the Swiss Alps, amidst breathtaking landscapes and lush pastures, Heidi, 8 years old, energetic and kind, enjoys her carefree life with her grumpy yet affectionate and devoted grandfather in their cozy mountain cabin, surrounded by towering peaks and the serene rhythm of the seasons.
Days pass with small daily adventures, the company of her best friend Peter, a carefree goat herder, and the boundless beauty of unspoiled nature. But Heidi's idyllic world changes when she saves an injured lynx cub that has fallen into a trap set by a cunning industrialist, Mr. Schnaittinger, who arrives in the picturesque village of Dörfli promising prosperity and modernity with the construction of a large sawmill.
Heidi names the cub Paprica and secretly cares for him in her room to help him heal, creating a deep and risky bond with the wild animal. But when the cub's antics and clumsiness attract unwanted attention, Heidi discovers that Schnaittinger's plans for a destructive sawmill threaten not only Paprica but the entire alpine ecosystem and the harmony of the village community, already divided between promises of progress and fear of losing its identity.
With her loyal friend Peter and the ever-loyal Saint Bernard Joseph, Heidi embarks on a daring nighttime journey to the high peaks to return Paprica to his family in the wild before it's too late. Along the way, she faces treacherous terrain, fierce weather, the industrialist's interference, and the dangers of nature, learning the importance of trust, sacrifice, and taking responsibility to protect what she loves and the fragile balance of her mountains.
