Mario Del Pero will be a guest at La Stazione/destination culture in Predazzo as part of the ConVersazioni. An interesting and important meeting to better understand American politics in the era of Trump. He will be in dialogue with Giacomo Panozzo, a history graduate and historical communicator.
Mario Del Pero is a Full Professor of International History and History of the United States at the Institut d'études politiques - SciencesPo Paris, where he directs the doctoral program in history and teaches courses on global history and the history of U.S. foreign policy. Among his most recent publications are "Freedom and Empire. The United States and the World, 1776-2011" (Laterza, 2017, 3rd ed.), "The Obama Era. From the Hope of Change to Trump's Election" (Feltrinelli, 2017). The essay "American Darkness" will be released in September by Il Mulino.
Del Pero has an impressive curriculum. Before joining SciencesPo, he was a Fulbright scholar in the History Department at George Washington University (1998) and in the History Department at Columbia University (2001). He held a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Bologna (2000-01). He was a researcher at the International Center for Advanced Studies (ICAS) at New York University (2001-02) and at the European University Institute in Fiesole (2004-05). In 2005, he was a Visiting Professor at Victoria University in Melbourne. From September to December 2007, he was a researcher at the Kluge Center of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
Alongside him will be Giacomo Panozzo, a young man from Predazzo who, since 2020, has started creating video content on social media telling history to young people and others in a simple, direct yet precise way, thus reaching an ever-wider audience.
