The exhibition The Forest and Plants in the Current Climate Crisis: The Case of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme is the final event of a comprehensive cultural program promoted, in collaboration with the Civic Museum Foundation of Rovereto, on the occasion of the Thematic Year of Euregio Museums 2025.
For the five-hundredth anniversary of the Peasants' Wars of 1525, which represented a period of crisis and uncertainty, the Magnificent Community of Fiemme has decided to share with the public an important moment of reflection: the management of its forests and other common goods in light of the drastic natural events that, in recent years, have deeply affected the territory. Climate change, exemplified by the Vaia storm and the bark beetle epidemic, poses a challenge for the entity to tackle, not alone, but with the participation and involvement of the entire community. The goal, in line with the motto of the Thematic Year "look beyond – weiter sehen", is to act and to transform an economic and social crisis into an opportunity to rethink and design the future together.
Exhibition realized as part of the Year of Euregio Museums 2025, for the project "The Forest and Plants in the Current Climate Crisis: The Case of Euregio" thanks to the support of Euregio – Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino.
Starting from July 31, the exhibition The Forest and Plants in the Current Climate Crisis will be enriched with the new section "Vital Spaces", of an artistic and naturalistic character, hosted in the public garden beneath the historic palace. The four iron sculptures by artist Fabio Gabrielli aim to stimulate reflection on vital spaces, both human and animal, in the mountain environment, with ancient presences, new arrivals, and unexpected returns.
