The festive afternoon will begin at 3:00 p.m. The square of LA STAZIONE will become a waiting area where travelers can spend time challenging themselves with narrative games prepared by La LudoMotiva and the Golosi di libri reading group. At 4:30 p.m., general knowledge and quick fingers will be needed to win the podium in a fun quiz: will cultural knowledge or proficiency with smartphones count more?
Awards
At 5:00 p.m., the readers who participated in the reading challenge will be awarded. Of the 115 participants in the literary challenge, those who have read at least six books in six different categories over six months will receive a charming handcrafted travel souvenir. Among those who will have completed all twelve categories, two additional prizes (one for those over 18 and one for younger readers) will be drawn. The completed book passports must be returned to LA STAZIONE by Friday, October 23rd.
TRAVELING WITH TINO MANTARRO
There’s no better way to conclude the reading challenge "From LA STAZIONE to the world" than by talking about travel. Specifically, a book that tells of one of the most iconic journeys in history: the Paris-Istanbul route on the mythical Orient Express. Journalist Tino Mantarro (a frequent guest in Predazzo with his books) and video reporter and photojournalist Marco Carlone retrace that itinerary on trains that are far from luxurious today: their slow-speed journey, following in the footsteps of a legendary train that carried monarchs and writers, spies and murderers, migrants and exiles, is recounted in the book "Orient Express. Paris-Istanbul round trip", published by Bottega Errante Edizioni. Starting at 5:30 p.m., Tino Mantarro will talk about this slow crossing on the most famous railway route in history, but not only that: it will be an opportunity to hear direct experiences from those who travel (and write) for work, to reflect on the different ways of being travelers, and to discover new destinations, whether real or literary.
The Capitolo 3 bookstore in Predazzo will be present at the event with the author's books.
