In the presence of the grandiose Dolomite bastion of Latemar, with its unmistakable spires and views of the Pale di San Martino and the Lagorai chain, the meadows of Tresca, reachable by the Agnello lift from Pampeago and a short walk along the path, will host the explosive energy of Baba-Jaga, a new Viennese band that blends Balkan and Eastern melodies, klezmer, and gypsy jazz in original compositions that often lead to free improvisation. A concentrated burst of creativity that resulted in the debut album Grenzenlos (significantly, “without borders”), which has captured both audience and critics alike in 2024.
The name of the group refers to a famous figure in Slavic mythology, sometimes a witch, sometimes a benefactor, magical, powerful, fearsome. A programmatic name, therefore, for an ensemble that has performed in prestigious locations such as the Viennese Porgy & Bess, the ORF Radiokulturhaus, and the Klezmore Festival, bringing pure energy to the stage and an irresistible invitation to dance.
