Inaugurazione mostre a Palazzo

Opening of the exhibitions "The Forest and Plants in the Current Climate Crisis: The Case of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme" and "Domino 3:0: Generated Living Structure."

For the five-hundredth anniversary of the Peasants' Wars of 1525, which represented a period of crisis and uncertainty, the Magnificent Community of Fiemme has decided to share with the public an  important moment of reflection: the management of its woods and other common goods in light of the drastic natural events that have profoundly marked the territory in recent years. Climate change, of which the Vaia storm and the bark beetle epidemic are emblematic, represents a challenge for the entity to face, not alone, but with the participation and involvement of the entire community. The goal, in line with the motto of the Thematic Year “look beyond – weiter sehen,” is to act and transform an economic and social crisis into an opportunity to rethink and plan together for the future.

The exhibition, starting from the story of the historic management of the forests, illustrates the innovative silvicultural activities of the present and the planning strategies for the forest of the future. It then continues with a focus on the adaptation of certain floral species to climate variations. On the second floor, however, are displayed the opportunities provided by ecosystem services – the gifts of the woods – and the intimate reflections that emerged during meetings with some members of the Community, held throughout the year.

The path dialogues and interacts with the other exhibition set up inside the Palace: Domino 3.0: Generated Living Structure. From wound to form. Kengo Kuma and the architecture that regenerates, where the wood wounded by Vaia and the bark beetle becomes living material for a generative architecture. In this way, the reflection on the climate crisis intertwines with that on the future use of wood, transforming a resource marked by nature into an opportunity for resilience and shared design.

The exhibition will be open from December 14, during the museum's opening hours:
