A dystopian world where parents and children choose each other on a social network, “Kinder”, which contains a series of profiles to match with. Swipe left or swipe right? Swipe right to like, left to reject. If you like each other, you will be put in touch and, if you wish, you can meet to test your feeling. And after a few dates, or right away, or never, you can decide to officially become parents and children, in joy and in sorrow, in health and in sickness, every day of your life, until death do you part. It’s scary, isn’t it? Yet it is just like that in today’s world, where, however, one does not choose.
A prospective mother and a prospective daughter, after a series of unfortunate meetings, get to know each other and decide to adopt each other forever. But does being able to choose keep problems at bay?
A shared investigative process with preadolescents on the concepts of expectation, perfection, self-imposition, adaptation, disappointment, and need for approval: about the difficulty of being children and being parents.
