The Val di Fiemme is a territory known for its woods historically managed by the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, a millenary collective entity responsible for the care of the local forests. In 2018, the Vaia storm hit the area hard, felling thousands and thousands of trees and putting the ecological and landscape balance of the valley at risk. In response to this emergency, WOWnature and forest technicians have initiated a plan for active reforestation and forest improvement affecting over 65 hectares distributed in the municipalities of Varena, Cavalese, Ziano di Fiemme, Trodena, and others, in the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
In areas where the trees have been completely felled, we intervene by planting over 100,000 new trees. The chosen species – including Norway spruce, larch, maple, birch, Swiss pine, ash, and rowan – are all native and selected based on the specific conditions of each site. This promotes faster regeneration and enhances the forest's resilience to extreme events.
Where the forest has survived but is damaged, we intervene with maintenance, selection, and enrichment actions. The goal is to increase biodiversity and the stability of the forest, making it more capable of resisting future extreme climate events and pests. In some cases, natural regeneration is encouraged, while in others, new species are introduced to diversify the composition of the forest.

Participate with whomever you want and share your passion for nature with them! We respect the rhythms of nature, which is why we plant trees in spring and autumn taking into account environmental conditions. If you cannot participate, we will take care of planting your tree.
