Created by the Stava 1985 Foundation, the Stava 1985 Center - located at Piazza Sgorigrad 2 in Stava di Tesero - describes through various multimedia informational tools the genesis, causes, and responsibilities of the disaster on July 19, 1985, in the Val di Stava.
The main informational tools are the educational path and the docufiction “Stava July 19” directed by Gabriele Cipollitti (a Rai director who previously collaborated with Piero Angela on “Superquark” and the “Superquark Specials”, and with Alberto Angela on “Ulisse” and “Meraviglie”) featuring Andrea Castelli and the young people of Tesero, which narrates the mountain trip of a group of youths who discursively retrace the history of the Prestavèl mine, its processing facility, and the mining dump that collapsed on July 19, 1985, killing 268 men, women, and children.
