Val di Fiemme: Olympics, fun and exciting news on the slopes.
A brand-new gondola lift, safer slopes, renovated mountain huts and villages in celebration: the 2025/26 season offers guests a unique mix of sport, fun, and unforgettable Alpine atmosphere.

Winter is fast approaching – and it promises to be unforgettable: Val di Fiemme will host the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, shining the international spotlight on a land where sport and hospitality are deeply rooted in its identity. The Nordic disciplines – cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined – will take centre stage here, turning the valley into the beating heart of the Games and attracting athletes and fans from all over the world.

The valley’s historic venues, already the stage for major international events, are ready to deliver new thrills. No less than 30% of all Olympic medals will be awarded here. An unmissable opportunity to experience the spectacle of sport in the Dolomites.

Beyond the Olympic events, throughout the entire winter season the valley is preparing to offer guests a rich programme of entertainment and major innovations in alpine skiing – the most popular and leading outdoor activity of the Fiemme winter.

Alpine skiing remains the heart of the valley
Val di Fiemme's sporting tradition finds its greatest strength in alpine skiing, which continues to drive the region’s winter tourism offer. The Latemar Dolomites resorts (Obereggen-Pampeago-Predazzo), Alpe Cermis and Bellamonte – Ski Area Alpe Lusia – feature scenic slopes, modern lifts and services to suit every level, from beginners to the most experienced skiers.

The valley’s five ski areas are interconnected by a ski bus service promoting sustainable mobility and by a single ski pass – the Fiemme/Obereggen – allowing guests to ski freely across all resorts. Thanks to the varied exposure of the ski areas, slopes remain in excellent condition throughout the season, ensuring high-quality snow and thrilling descents from the very start to the end of winter.

For the 2025/26 season, significant new developments will enhance the snow experience:

Pampeago – Nuova New Latemar gondola lift
Latemar Dolomites – Pampeago will inaugurate a new 10-seater gondola lift, replacing the historic 4-seater Latemar chairlift that has been in operation since 1988. Built by Doppelmayr, the new installation will extend over 1,085 metres, linking the valley station (1,760 m) with the mountain station (2,015 m), overcoming a vertical rise of 255 metres in just 4 minutes. With a capacity of 2,700 people per hour, it marks a major step forward in terms of comfort, efficiency, and accessibility for both skiers and hikers.

Obereggen – The new Absam Stube and upgraded chairlift
Obereggen will unveil the new Absam Stube, a restaurant reimagined in a contemporary style by architect Felix Pardeller. Dark wood, original furnishings such as swings crafted from snowboards, graphics inspired by vintage posters and a panoramic terrace overlooking the Dolomites will transform this mountain stop into a unique sensory experience.
Alongside the refurbished lodge, the Absam alpine area will also benefit from the renewal of the Absam-Maierl chairlift, now featuring new six-seater chairs with an innovative design, offering greater comfort and safety. A choice that combines functionality and style, enriching the skiing experience in the Dolomite scenery at the foot of the Latemar.

Bellamonte Alpe Lusia – More parking and safety with two major upgrades.
A new 200-space car park to improve access to the lifts, reduce congestion and make travel easier for families and groups, complete with a dedicated drop-off/pick-up area separated from the main traffic;
An upgrade to the Fraina toboggan run, with the addition of three new bends to reduce the gradient of its steepest section, improving safety without sacrificing fun.

Cavalese – Alpe Cermis: fully renovated Paion mountain hut
At the top station of the Cermis lifts, the Paion hut will be completely refurbished, with modern interiors enhancing the panoramic views of the Dolomites and new guest areas designed to combine tradition with innovation.

Passo Oclini – Enhanced snowmaking system
On the slopes of Passo Oclini, new snowmaking systems will be introduced to ensure more consistent and sustainable skiing throughout the season, improving snow quality and slope usability even during the most challenging periods.

Fiemme “the little Norway” of the Dolomites

For decades, the valley has been the homeland of cross-country skiing, earning it the nickname “the Little Norway of the Dolomites”. Alongside the Cross-Country Centre in Lago di Tesero, which hosts major international competitions, there is Passo Lavazè, offering more than 80 km of trails winding through forests and high-altitude pastures. Here, gliding on skis becomes a silent and contemplative experience, in perfect harmony with the Dolomite landscape.

Beyond skiing: culture and taste

For those seeking a slower pace, Val di Fiemme’s snow can also be discovered on snowshoes. Groomed trails and winter walks lead through spruce forests, clearings and panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, mountain huts and dairies welcome hikers with traditional dishes and hot drinks, turning every outing into a moment of authentic connection with the mountains.

The latest developments on the slopes go hand in hand with a cultural and culinary programme that showcases the region. Museums, theatres, and cultural venues will host exhibitions and performances with a sporting theme, while mountain huts and restaurants will offer menus celebrating Trentino specialities: alpine cheeses, wines, and traditional dishes, some reinterpreted in a contemporary style.

Music festivals such as Dolomiti Ski Jazz, from 6 to 15 March 2026, together with evening events and entertainment, will make the Fiemme winter an immersive experience that unites sport, culture, and conviviality.

Those in search of relaxation will find the right dimension to recharge in the valley’s wellness centres and pristine natural surroundings: Fiemme Valley is in fact the first Wellness Community, with projects and services designed to promote the well-being of both residents and guests. A place where nature, health, and quality of life merge into a single, regenerating experience.

Thus, the valley presents itself not only as the stage of the Olympics, but also as a destination for entertainment and outdoor activities.

Fiemme Valley: the valley of the Olympics and emotions

With its eyes set on the Olympics and its heart rooted in tradition, Fiemme Valley positions itself as a destination capable of innovation and surprise. New lifts, enhanced safety, entertainment, and villages in celebration: the winter of 2025/26 will be a unique chapter in the valley’s history, offering genuine emotions to all who choose it.
