Trekking through the silent woods and the precious reserves of the Upper Val di Cembra and the Monte Corno Natural Park. An immersion in a still intact environment waiting to be discovered.

The proposed journey leads to the discovery of something special, unusual. You will not encounter rock towers or untouched peaks, but something smaller and perhaps less conspicuous, yet just as precious. You will always be surrounded by the forests that separate the Adige valley from Val di Cembra; an area straddling two worlds already in Roman times. You will find witnesses of the past and present of this mountain, foremost among them the peat bogs, ancient glacial lakes where peat has gradually reduced the water surface, creating an environment incredibly favorable to biodiversity. Additionally, there are old bird traps, mills, and boundary stones that tell forgotten stories. At the end of the day, you will find the warmth of the mountain hut or alpine pasture: a bowl of soup and a glass of wine will help happily remember what happened during the day and dream of the next stage.

Itinerary designed and realized by Sviluppo Turistico Grumes in collaboration with the Valle di Cembra - Avisio Reserve Network, the Monte Corno Natural Park, tourism promotion entities, and numerous private operators.

STAGE 3 (From Malga Monte Corno Hut to Pochi di Salorno)

Behind the alpine pasture, take path no. 9 towards Hackelboden – Casignano, which passes below the summit of Monte Corno (1,781 m). Crossing the Casignano Forest, first descend on a road and then on a zig-zag path (no. 9), crossing the dirt road multiple times. Once a flat road is reached, turn left, and after 100 meters, reach the Hackelboden hut. Behind the hut, the path (no. 9) descends to the forest road where it turns left. You reach a fork and, following the road that climbs sharply to the left, head towards Cauria pass. From the pass, always on the road (no. 4), descend to the small village of Cauria. Just before the village, on the right, take the path (no. 2-7-8) until you reach the Provincial road. Just beyond the clearing, on the right, take the forest road signposted Laghetti (path no. 7). Descend and enter a deep small valley. Follow the signs for “Laghetti” until the road, on an asphalt section past Loc. Le Seghe, joins a hairpin bend at the height of a stone bridge (Roman bridge). Take the Dürer Trail (Dürerweg) on the left, which climbs from the Kloesterle di Laghetti and finally reaches Pochi di Salorno.
