Easy itinerary at altitude: the difference in height to reach the start is covered by the lifts. The hiker has all the pleasure of a rewarding walk constantly at 2000 meters and beyond! A short passage with fixed rope and some steps, but never with voids or overhangs, makes the excursion dynamic and exciting.

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. Starting point
Paion del Cermis
Directions
Reach Paion del Cermis via the Alpe Cermis ski lifts (open from mid-June to mid-September). Follow the signs for the Bombasel Lakes, trail marker no. 3. The route initially descends along a wide road – which serves as a ski run in winter – towards the “Lo Chalet” mountain hut. You can also reach the same spot by following the narrow path through the woods that starts at the end of the sun terrace at the Paion refuge, where you’ll also find “Panoramio 360°”, a viewpoint offering a 360-degree panorama of the surrounding peaks. Once you reach Forcella Bombasel, the only challenging section begins, consisting of a flight of steps: there are around 85 easy-to-climb wooden steps with a rope running alongside to hold on to. Continue along the clearly marked path, which climbs gently and steadily through ancient porphyry rock formations and green pastures, leading to the beautiful lakes.
The return journey follows the same route.

You can reach Cavalese by bus from each village of Val di Fiemme.
How to get there
When you reach Cavalese follow the directions Funivie Alpe Cermis. On the road in the bottom of the valley you will find the cable car departure between Masi di Cavalese village and the waterfall.
Where to park
There are two parkings: one in Cavalese near the lift office, the other one is on the valley floor close to the second lift office (near the river).
