In the sixteenth century, the invention of movable type printing was the unconscious engine of a revolution, bringing those who had never had access to power to become aware for the first time of common demands that culminated in the Peasants' War.
Since then, the world has never been the same; from that moment on, power began to concern itself with the means of information in order to govern them.
Five centuries later, or rather now, something similar happens. On January 6, 2021, an enraged crowd storms Capitol Hill, the anger of that day is channeled and organized by social media.
In both cases, the new means of communication, without the control of power, brings to the surface the anger of those who feel excluded.
In this book, Francesco Filippi shows us that there is a close relationship between uprisings and means of communication.
