From trust to control. Internet, artificial intelligence, and the struggle to tolerate uncertainty. Event recommended for young people aged 16 to 35, by reservation.
Cameras, geolocation, intelligent assistants: we have more and more tools to control and monitor. But what happens to trust when uncertainty becomes intolerable?
The intervention proposes a reflection on how the Internet, social media, and new technologies are changing the way we experience relationships with others. Today we have more and more tools to control, verify, and monitor: cameras, geolocation, parental control, access to phones, intelligent assistants capable of remembering, suggesting, and even interpreting.
In this scenario, it becomes more difficult to tolerate doubt, limits, and the inevitable opacity of the other. Yet it is precisely there that trust is born. The risk is that the promise of security produces more monitored, more managed relationships, less capable of freedom and responsibility.
Starting from a short story, the intervention aims to open a space for critical yet accessible reflection on the relationship between technology, the need for control, fear of uncertainty, and emotional life.
