DEAD CRAYONS live
Dead Crayons is a trio formed in 2020 with the aim of materializing the strong musical affinities of its three members.
The sound that emerges from the very first improvisations intertwines noise-rock with post-punk and sludge atmospheres, and in 2023 they record the EP Touches, a self-produced album released on 33’’ vinyl in the autumn of 2023.
VALERIO MAIOLO live
Valerio Maiolo, sound performer and music engineer, is involved in discrete sound synthesis and digital control systems for analog instruments in installation and performance environments. The theoretical work is at the center of his musical research and lies between the study of partially ordered sets of naturally tuned pitches and number theory. The harmonic experience of sound is realized in the daily practice of harmonic singing.
Valerio Maiolo will present curve25519. A work that focuses on the intrinsic quality of secrecy that can be established in the miracle of the sublimation of the verbal into non-public, intimate, private communication.
The name of this work comes from a particular elliptic curve over the finite field defined by the pseudo-Mersenne prime number 2^255 - 19, hence the "25519" in the name. It enables a cryptography used to establish a shared secret over an insecure channel.
The setup is based on the c2oC (computer2organsCommunication) system where the computer mediates communication between two pre-MIDI electronic organs that have been hacked to interact with each other.
The harmonic flourishes of the organs located in the performative space intertwine with the sounds of digital synthesis and the natural harmonics of the voice.
