The anthropologist Nicola Martellozzo, a research fellow at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, has dedicated four years to studying the interactions between the Fiemme community and its forest heritage, focusing on the cultural and ecological impacts of the bark beetle epidemic in Val di Fiemme.
Alice Zorzin, a documentary photographer and visual researcher, has curated a photographic project of an anthropological nature on the human consequences of the ongoing bark beetle epidemic in the Alps, with particular attention to Val di Fiemme.
In a dialogue between Martellozzo and Zorzin, the ecological and social transformations caused by the bark beetle are explored, highlighting the interconnections between the environment, community, and cultural perception of the alpine landscape.
