Exploring the Parco della Pieve in Cavalese you can come across a curious and original historical testimony: a key find for the history of Trentino and its autonomist tradition.

What you see, the "Banco de la Resòn", is a solemn and significant historical testimony of the cultural roots of the territory. Located in the Parco della Pieve in Cavalese, the "counter" is a curious structure of stone blocks that form two concentric rows of seats around a round table. Here, from the 16th century until 1780, the assemblies of the Comun General, the organ of self-government of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, were held every 15 August. The meetings, chaired by Scario, the leader of the assembly elected every year, were attended by the fire chiefs, or representatives of the different local communities. Curious and macabre detail: in this same place the witch trials were also carried out originally.
