On July 19, 2025, 40 years will have passed since the collapse of the Prestavèl mining dump, which caused a mudflow that swept through the entire Val di Stava. The tragedy brought mourning to 64 municipalities in 11 different regions of Italy where the victims of Val di Stava were residing at the time.
The Stava 1985 Foundation has taken on the task of “active memory” and offers a series of informational tools to explain the genesis, causes, and responsibilities of the disaster.
