On July 19, 2025, the Prestavèl mining dump collapsed, causing a mudslide that overwhelmed the entire Stava Valley. The tragedy brought mourning to 64 municipalities in 11 different regions of Italy where the victims of the Stava Valley were residing at the time.
The Stava 1985 Foundation has undertaken the task of “active memory” and offers a series of informational tools to explain the genesis, causes, and responsibilities of the catastrophe
SUMMER OPENING 2026:

in July and August also in the morning from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.;

In addition to the educational path at the Center, lasting about one hour, the naturalistic and educational path “Stava 1985” is accessible. The path “Where a valley stood” is also open, which starts from Tesero, ascends the Stava Valley, and reaches the Stava 1985 Center.
