Grauno

From the village of Grauno, near the church, head uphill for about 200 metres along a cobbled road towards Fontana d’Ao, then take a flat dirt track which, from the hamlet of Preda da l’Ao, follows the old Val di Cembra road towards Capriana. The road then becomes a lovely cycleable path before widening again at Pian dal Mas, from where you continue on a gentle climb to the village of Capriana. From the upper part of the village, the climb resumes, passing behind a porphyry quarry along a fairly steep old cobbled road. The route then continues on almost level ground into the Rio Bianco valley before climbing again to the hamlet of Peschiera; at this point, it levels out once more before climbing again on the final stretch before the Cisa Pass. Once at the Cisa Pass, follow the signposts to the left for Malga Monte Corno.

We recommend stopping to admire the view and also to sample the traditional fopod served at the mountain hut. 

From here, after passing through a gate, climb for about 200 metres; when the path levels out, follow the signposts for Lago Bianco, which by now resembles a marsh. From here, continue along the forest track where, about 700 metres after a wide hairpin bend, take the path towards Cauria, arriving at a crossroads. Carry on along the forest track to the Fontana d’Ao forest refuge and then down to the village of Grauno.

Coming from the A22 Brenner freeway, either from the south or the north, exit at the Trento nord tollbooth (distance from the tollbooth km 22.5), take the S.S. 12 del Brennero north to the Lavis junction, and then turn onto the SP 131 Lavis - Castello di Fiemme, which leads to Grauno.
