Panoramic loop walk in the Natural Park of Monte Corno.

At the far end of Val di Fiemme, this easy excursion is great for every season. Even though the route is not at a high altitude, it offers amazing landscapes and is perfect for hiking in spring and fall, when there may still be snow or ice up in the mountains.

We are in the Natural Park of Monte Corno, a small park of about 6800 hectares but extremely rich in vegetation, different bird species and wildlife.

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Starting point
Trodena
Directions

Once at the parking lot, you will find immediately the signs to Malga Cislon: take the trail that runs next to the houses on the right, until you reach a paved road that leads from the town centre to a steep porphyry-paved climb. From here you have two options: walk along the road or take the trail on the left that passes through a wood of Scots pines. The trail heads to a pasture, and after a short climb, reconnects to the forest road. After another few minutes you can reach Malga Cislon, laying on a large pasture which includes a pond, with a wide view on the Brenta Dolomites, with Mounts Roen and Penegal. The road then continues into the wood: here and there, among trees, you will get unexpected views on the lake of Caldaro and Bassa Atesina. Keep walking uphill, passing through a larch wood, until you reach a wooden capital with crucifix. From here you can spot, from afar, the peaks of Corno Bianco and Corno Nero, and part of the Lagorai mountain chain.

The road then descends and after a cobbled section you will be back to the starting point.

Along this loop walk, you may take several detours along trails in the wood to shorten the distance. We suggest following the signposts.
