The route connects the villages of Cavalese and Castello di Fiemme. A route with varied elevation that makes it special and fun, provided you pay attention.

MONTAGNA SENZA LIMITI is a project presenting routes accessible by electric wheelchair

The outbound journey towards Castello di Fiemme is a kind of panoramic terrace from which to admire the extensive Lagorai mountain chain on the left, and the meadows below the village of Carano on the right. A long descent leads to the village of Castello di Fiemme; the climbs, short and steep, are on the way back, along a lightly trafficked road. The ground is always asphalted and therefore easy to travel.

CURIOSITY In Castello di Fiemme, remains of an ancient village - an Alpine Roman settlement - from two thousand years ago have been discovered. On Via Dolomiti, after the tennis court, there is a glass window on the left below a private house that allows you to observe the remains of two buildings of this village.

The first building was destroyed by a fire around the end of the 1st century AD, based on the finding of a bronze coin attributed to Emperor Nerva (96-98 AD). In the floor of the second house a hiding place was discovered with seventeen silver-alloy coins collected between 260 and 280 AD.

Safety guidelines

We recommend carefully observing the terrain and the various small obstacles.

The route must be undertaken with a companion.

As you can imagine, the passability of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this leaflet may have changed. Before leaving, check the status of the route by contacting the managers of the refuges on your route, the mountain guides, the visitor centers of natural parks, and the tourist offices.

Starting point
Cavalese
Directions

Leaving the hospital behind, cross the street towards the supermarket and then turn right to join the sidewalk of Via Dossi and take the descent. Continue straight on Via Val di Ronco along the uphill sidewalk. If the sidewalk is too steep, use the road being careful of traffic. As soon as you reach the top, turn left onto Via Trento. From here the route continues on a flat cycle-pedestrian sidewalk. Cross the junction after the Garden hotel and continue straight following the cycle-pedestrian sidewalk. After passing the dairy, cross the state road and take the downhill sidewalk. Upon reaching the Chinese restaurant, at the traffic light, cross the street and continue downhill on the sidewalk until reaching Via Latemar (be careful as the sidewalk, besides being downhill, has small dips). Enter Via Latemar and, at the intersection, turn right and then immediately left along the entire Via Dolomiti, on which there is a playground and tennis court on the right. At the intersection with Via delle Pozze continue straight on the slightly uphill road to the left of the tree (take the right road only if with a 4x4 wheelchair). After crossing the wooden bridge a short uphill starts (150 meters, average slope 11%); reaching the shrine activate the tilting to face the downhill at low speed. Continue on the left road, at the intersection continue straight on Via Marmolaia (cross the pedestrian crossing to climb onto the sidewalk) and then on Via Dossi until reaching the hospital parking.

How to get there

Reach the village of Cavalese and then the hospital.

Where to park

Two disabled parking spaces in front of the hospital.

Electric wheelchair or 4x4 wheelchair.

4x4 wheelchair rental
