Starting point
Montesover
Directions

Start at Montesover just north of the church, on the road leading to Baita Monte Pat and Malga Vernera, and proceed on asphalt with a steep incline, ignoring various forks with dirt roads. You quickly reach an altitude of 1400 m after about 3.5 km. Continuing still on asphalt with a less challenging slope towards Malga Vernera, ignore the fork for Valfloriana and leave Baita Monte Pat on the left (refreshment point with a pleasant view). After about 2.5 km you reach Malga Vernera Bassa (1676 m): the view opens up over the meadows used for grazing, dominated by a small alpine chapel. Continue on the forest road (trail marker no. 468 SAT) along the contour and with a slight ascent. Upon reaching a fork, leave trail no. 468 and proceed to the right. At first, you encounter small buildings called "baiti": here the forest road becomes a trail (468/B) and near the hillcrest begins a rather challenging descent (about 300 m) that will bring you to the forest road below. The route continues to the right, descending for a stretch on "concrete" until the fork you traveled on earlier when ascending, closing the loop back to Montesover.

Montesover is reachable via the B 403 and B 404 extraurban public transport lines.
