"Blessed Obscenity" is dedicated to the incredible life of Giò di Panico, a well-known figure of the post-war period. Nephew of the fascist leader Achille Starace, the one who said "a healthy mind in a healthy body," Gioacchino "Giò" Stajano Storace, Count Briganti di Panico, was among the first openly gay individuals and one of the first Italian men to become a woman. But Giò was also an actor, journalist, writer, commentator, model, adult film actor, and an inspiration for directors such as Federico Fellini, Steno, Dino Risi, and finally, and here we are astonished (!), a lay nun at the Sisters of Bethany of the Sacred Heart. A life that is a hymn to freedom of thought, a hymn to self-determination, to the courage to show oneself as one is and desires to be, a challenge thrown to the world and society with the sharp irony typical of intelligent people.
