THE 10 RULES FOR HIKERS
As you can imagine, the accessibility of trails in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before leaving, check the condition of the path by contacting the managers of the refuges on your route, mountain guides, visitor centers of natural parks, and tourist offices.
From the parking lot, go back a few meters on the paved road and take the right fork that enters the forest with signs "Roccolo Sauch 0.45".
Follow the forest road immersed in the deciduous forest, ignoring the fork to Lago Santo. We recommend reading the descriptions on the information board regarding the "Lagabrun Nature Reserve," a short distance from our walk.
Upon reaching Pozze, choose the left fork and continue on the pleasant road. Once you reach Passo della Croccola, the destination is near and in five minutes you arrive at the famous Roccolo del Sauch. It is worth approaching and examining its details aided by well-made illustrative panels. The hike continues following the signs to the Sauch refuge about ten minutes away.
Once refreshed at the refuge, resume the main road near the "Herb Garden," a herb medicinal garden, and continue east. Still on a forest road, after 1.5 km you return to Pozze and from there to the starting point following the outward road.
From the Trento bus station, take line B102 towards Cavalese (Trento - Cembra - Capriana - Cavalese) and get off at Cembra. There are no public transport links to Lago Santo; therefore, the starting point must be reached by private transport or on foot.

Coming from the A22 Brenner motorway, from south or north, exit at the Trento nord tollbooth (distance from the tollbooth km 22.5), take the S.S. 12 del Brennero heading north until the Lavis junction, then continue on the S.S. 612 Lavis - Castello di Fiemme which leads to the Cembra Valley and then the town of Cembra, then follow the signs for Lago Santo.
Continue uphill until reaching a parking lot along the road with coordinates N46°12'0.2 E11°11'40.3 1075 m a.s.l. About 50 meters before the parking lot, clearly visible, starts the forest road to enter to begin the itinerary (there is a white and blue sign for the Sauch refuge, a no-car sign, and white and red signage signs)
We recommend doing the walk with a child carrier backpack.
Gym or trekking shoes, waterproof jacket, water, snacks, and sunscreen.
