THE 10 RULES FOR HIKERS
As you can imagine, the passability of trails in a mountain environment is strictly linked to contingent conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before leaving, get information on the condition of the trail by contacting the refuge manager on your route, alpine guides, visitor centers of natural parks, and tourist offices.
The route starts from the village of Faver, a small village characterized by the still alive gastronomic tradition among local producers including Paolazzi Distillery, Paolazzi Butcher Shop, and Locanda del Passatore. From here you descend following the European Path E5, along the ancient Corvaia trail, to the historic Cantilaga bridge over the Avisio. From here turn right towards Piazzo. Near the cemetery, a left turn allows you to reach the ruins of Segonzano Castle, a panoramic point overlooking the vineyards and of historic-cultural interest. Having reached the chapel of Saint Anthony, you descend to the village of Piazzo where the Immaculate Church and Baroni Palace in Prato with the homonymous cellar are located.
From here it is possible to return to Faver or, resuming the E5, climb to the Stedro locality where there is the Giacomozzi inn and distillery. From here you proceed on a gentle climb to the panoramic point overlooking the Segonzano Earth Pyramids from above and descend along the path, which crosses the entire site, until you reach near the Regnana stream and the Chiosco at the Pyramids. A path leads back to the village of Piazzo from where you descend along the provincial road to the Friendship bridge over the Avisio. After crossing the bridge, immediately turn left onto a secondary road that runs alongside the stream. Along the country roads that cross the vineyards, you climb back up to Faver.
Hiking shoes, waterproof jacket, trekking poles, water, snacks, and sunscreen.
