EMERGENCY has chosen the cantuccio for the strong message that this cookie carries: born as a biscuit to nourish Roman soldiers, under the Medici it is enriched with almonds and other ingredients, becoming a dessert at the end of the meal, linked to sharing and moments of celebration, a symbol of peace and reconciliation, leaving behind its warlike origins.
The cantucci of Peace will be distributed by volunteers in a 250 gr package: they are sweet baked products with 25% whole almonds from Pasticceria Artigianale Bonci of Montevarchi - a family business that has been passing down the pastry art for about 70 years.
Together with the cantucci, the bracelet of the R1PUD1A campaign will be offered, through which Emergency reaffirms the repudiation of war stated in Article 11 of the Italian Constitution.
