EMERGENCY has chosen the cantucci for the strong message that this cookie carries: born as a biscuit to nourish Roman soldiers, under the Medici it becomes enriched with almonds and other ingredients, turning into a sweet treat at the end of a meal, linked to sharing and festive moments, a symbol of peace and reconciliation, leaving behind its warlike origins.
The Peace cantucci will be distributed by volunteers in a 250 gr package: they are leavened sweet products with whole almonds making up 25% from the Bonci Artisan Pastry Shop in Montevarchi - a family-run business that has been passing down the pastry art for about 70 years.
Along with the cantucci, the bracelet of the R1PUD1A campaign will be offered, with which Emergency reiterates the repudiation of war stated in Article 11 of the Italian Constitution.
